Ioan Ștefan Florian
Stefan Florian is currently the Head of the Department of Neurosurgery at Cluj County Emergency Hospital, Vice President of the Romanian Society of Neurosurgery, President of the Senate and Professor of Neurosurgery at the “Iuliu Hatieganu” University of Medicine and Pharmacy Cluj-Napoca, and from 2014, President of the Euroacademia Multidisciplinaria Neurotraumatologica (EMN).
Professor Florian is the neurosurgeon with the most numerous case series from Romania and Eastern Europe (over 11 000 surgeries performed up to date), with a vast experience in skull base lesions. Besides having the largest case series of brain stem lesions from Eastern Europe, Professor Florian has operated the youngest patient with a brain stem cavernoma in the world (7 months old). He has also authored a highly appreciated book about the treatment of pituitary adenomas. His vast experience and profound clinical insight indubitably puts him among the experts in the field of skull base surgery.
