Doctor Volovici is a training resident with special interest in cerebrovascular and skull base neurosurgery. He earned his PhD in neurosurgery and medical decision making/evidence.
From 2017 he co-directs the Comprehensive microsurgical Course in microsurgery in Cluj-Napoca, Romania. He has published on training methods and modifications of the end-to-side technique and leads a large validation study and a psychomotor skill assessment trial. From 2019 he is a Visiting Professor of experimental microsurgery at the UMF “Iuliu Hatieganu” Cluj-Napoca.
His areas of interest are: microsurgery, vascular neurosurgery, skull base and surgical anatomy. He has been conducting microsurgical research and microsurgery training research for more than 9 years, running more than 3 microvascular courses a year from 2012. Together with Dr. Ruben Dammers they initiated and run the Rotterdam cerebrovascular bypass programme within the Stroke Center.
He has published 36 articles, 32 of which are indexed on PubMed (h-index 7).
Together with dr. Cristina Aldea, he is the founder of the Neurosurgical Masterclass concept and has also been and will be a key-speaker at Neurosurgical Masterclass.
